XT70W - Purchase Experience

If you’re going to purchase an Xtool in NZ, would recommend you do it from Discount Tools NZ: Service, Freight and Product knowledge has been excellent. The tools platform can be buggy and paying a little extra for domestic support should an issue arise is $$$ well spent. Re the tool, Pro - it’s really good for a higher end retired mechanic who has experience with this type of tech. The wireless component is awesome giving great walk around freedom. Feature coverage is good given its price. Con - The auto VIN id feature doesn't work on any of the NZ vehicles I’ve worked on to date. Some of the key/computer coding needs expensive add on equipment (which I wish I knew beforehand) and the Xtool operating manual/online is insufficient meaning you rely heavily on YouTube videos for instruction. All in all, good valve for the $$$ and if you’re going to get, get from Discount Tools.

Used to program keys for ve vf and vz commodore sucessfully, ve vf transponders need to have the right format to allow programming, most ebay aliexpress transponders will need to be formatted to allow programming, i used a xhorse vvdi mini for this.
