Compass vs Compass Master – What's the Difference?
The XTOOL Compass and Compass Master share the same tablet hardware and core diagnostic functionality.
The primary difference is SAE J2534 Pass-Thru programming support. The Compass Master includes J2534 functionality, while the standard Compass does not include it as standard.
The standard Compass remains a highly capable professional diagnostic tool for workshops that do not require J2534 Pass-Thru programming. XTOOL lists J2534 as an optional upgrade for the Compass.
Software Updates
The XTOOL Compass includes three years of software updates. After the included period expires, an optional annual software subscription is available to maintain access to new software releases and expanded vehicle coverage.
The tool continues to operate with its existing installed software if the subscription is not renewed.
